  • John Waters

    Lead Pastor

John has a passion for people and for helping them to have a growing relationship with Christ. He grew up in Statesboro, Georgia, and worked in the business world for several years before the Lord called him into ministry. John earned his Master of Arts in Christian Education at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and then served as a youth pastor in Cleveland, Tennessee for 9 years. He then served as Associate Pastor in North Augusta, South Carolina, before returning to “God’s Country” in east Tennessee to serve as Lead Pastor at ChristWay in July of 2006. John is madly in love with his wife, Angie, who supports him in ministry, and he’s proud of his two sons, Mitchell and Matthew. John enjoys working out, skydiving, riding roller coasters, flipping houses and even watching the grass grow!

Josh was born in East Ridge (apparently that's a big deal and explains a lot!) and grew up right here in the Chattanooga area. Josh was called to ministry in the year 2000 at a Y2K student event. He has served as a youth group leader, performed in the band "Duration," graduated from Covington Seminary and helped to plant a church in Knoxville before returning home to ChristWay. He has a beautiful daughter, Bralyn, who loves Disney as much as he does. Though he is embarrassed to admit it, Josh also loves bowling and gaming.

  • colby kaluzniak

What began as a journey in Colby’s own walk with Jesus became a life long call to help others understand how the Bible applies to our lives. Colby has served in other churches on staff in Knoxville and Atlanta before joining ChristWay in 2018. He is a graduate of Lee University with a B.S. in Pastoral Ministry. He married his beautiful bride, Lauren in May 2016, and they are expecting a baby boy in March. Colby enjoys all things Texas…Texas style bbq, Dr. Pepper, the University of Texas football (The real UT), and of course, The Dallas Cowboys. In his spare time, you can find Colby manicuring his yard, finding a reason to get out on a boat, playing sports, and generally using any excuse to spend time outdoors.

Dianna is a Bradley county native who spent 14 years in the banking world. In 1993, she felt called to ministry and spent the next 18 years as a Children’s Minister before joining the ChristWay team in February 2012. She has always had a passion for helping people find their place of service in the local church and her position as Life Groups and Connections at ChristWay allows her to do that while also helping people find a Life Group “to do life” with. Dianna and her husband, Tim, live in Cleveland near their two adult children. As empty nesters, they enjoy traveling together. She is an avid scrapbooker and Tim enjoys all projects wood related, including flipping houses, but their most rewarding “hobby” is spending time with their grandchildren.

L.J. was born and raised in Soddy Daisy, TN. He attended Bryan College where he played baseball and earned a B.S. degree in communication. During his time at Bryan, L.J.  met his amazing wife Madison and now they have the privilege of being parents to their daughter, Ivy. L.J.  served as a student ministry intern at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN, where the Lord confirmed a call to ministry in his life, and he is currently studying for a Master's degree in Biblical Studies at Bryan College. He would rather be outside than inside (playing golf, hiking, out in the yard with the family, walking around downtown). L.J. also loves coffee, la croix, hot weather, the beach and Georgia Bulldogs. Go DAWGS!!!

Matthew has been serving students since his freshman year in college. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in business in May of 2015 and then joined the team at ChristWay in February of 2016. Matthew loves working with students, running, cooking and going on random adventures. He dislikes writing about himself and that is why he has the shortest bio on this page.

Capturing children's hearts for Jesus in an environment that is fun and energetic is Courtney’s passion. With a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Ohio State University, she was preparing to teach elementary school. God had other plans and led her to keep getting more involved at ChristWay. Courtney loves seeing children excited about coming to church and learning that God loves them and can do anything. She is so proud to be on this journey with her husband Forrest and their two boys, Benjamin and Gabriel.  Courtney enjoys reading, baking, and biking with her boys.

Pamela has been a part of the ChristWay family since 1992 and has been working as the financial assistant since 2005. She received her undergraduate degree from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, with a double major in History and Secondary Education. Finance must be in her blood because her parents also did church finance for many years. Most of her career has been spent working in administration, fundraising and event planning for ministries. She and her husband, Jim, have been married since 1994 and have three amazing kids: Graham, Corrine and Emily.

Serving is what Shannon’s heart is all about no matter where that is! Shannon and her husband, David, went on their first mission trip in 2010 to Honduras. That trip created in them a passion to reach others for Christ through missions and they have never looked back. Since joining the ChristWay team, she has been able to help many others follow that calling in their life to share the Gospel in international locations. She enjoys cotton candy, watching movies, eating out and spending time with her husband and their two children, Mikaelyn and Kaleb.

What began as Angie simply being a helpmate to her husband grew into the position of ministy assistant where her almost compulsive attention to details spurs her to excellence in our church communications. She has a degree in printing management from Georgia Southern University, and she is constantly striving to improve her graphic design abilities. Angie also has a heart for missions and helps lead several international mission projects each year. She is married to her best friend, John, and they have adult children--Matthew, Mitchell and his lovely wife, Liz.

Just back from a stint working Chinook in the tributaries of the Mackenzie River, Neal is involved with our technical and creative efforts. His wife is very patient. His kids are first rate. Together, they enjoy epic family adventures and also some pretty boring stuff, too. Currently, Route 66 is calling his name. He is an amateur sculptor, a beard oil chemist, a pretty decent coffee drinker, and this is the second-to-last time we let him write his own bio.
